Wilfords started off business producing hand crafted timber products, In 1934 the then owner, H. Wilford, decided to sell the produced items by auction on a Thursday afternoon when it was "half day closing" in Wellingborough.
Since then Wilfords has become an institution of the local community, and continues to hold auctions every Thursday, and remains a family business.
In September 2021 We moved to new premises! Our new address is:
9 Faraday Court, Park Farm Inustrial Estate, Wellingborough, Northants, NN8 6XY.
We hold weekly general auctions every Thursday from 9:30am, simply come along and view all the items for sale on Wednesdays 10am-4pm, register with us, and then bid!
You can drop any items you wish to sell with us off from 12pm-5pm every Friday, and 9am-12pm Saturdays.
We can provide a complete house clearance, which includes the appraisal and removal of saleable items as well as a full clearance of non-saleable items for disposal should this be required. We also offer collection for any items you wish to sell with us, Please contact the office for more details or to book for either of these services.
Pre-sale verbal valuations and advice are given free of charge and without obligation, and can be carried out in situ or at the saleroom.
We offer a written insurance/probate valuation service covering single items through to entire house contents. For more information please contact the office.
Buying at Wilfords Couldn't be simpler, view the items, register with us, leave a bid or bid in person, pay and collect your item! For more information please contact the office.
Viewing day is 10am-4pm every Wednesday, just pop in and see whatever you've got your eye on. (Please note some items -particualrly high value ones- won't be available for viewing as they are stored offsite for safety. Get in touch if you want to view something that might be kept offsite and we can keep it available for you.)
Once you've won the item you can pay by cash/debit card at the office, or via the invoice online and have until 5pm Friday to pay/collect.
If you do not collect by 5pm Friday following the auction (or make arrangements with us to do so), you may incur storage charges.
Like all auctions, there are buying fees, however ours are charged at only 20% and include VAT, with a MINIMUM commission of £2 per lot.
We offer our sales LIVE ONLINE sale with Easy Live Auction, every week! So every item in the room is available to buy online. It makes buying from us even simpler, as you can do it from the comfort of your sofa.

We are a general auction house and will sell everything from packs of timber to diamond rings, from the very benign to the very bling. We offer free no obligation pre-sale valuations on site or in your home.
